Britt Timothy O’Brien was born with one of “those hearts”. The kind that is pure, innocent, trusting and kind. At the age of 21, he still has those qualities, and so many more.
In the early morning hours of August 7th, Britt was outside of Atlanta with some college friends and lacrosse teammates for a long weekend, and dove into the shallow end of a dark pool. His friend Ian saved him from drowning and got him out of the pool. He suffered a spinal cord injury, with a compression fracture of his C5 vertebrae. He is currently receiving treatment at the Shepherd Center in Atlanta - a world renowned spinal cord rehabilitation hospital
Britt has a long road ahead of him. He has unending faith and hope and he has what it takes to battle back to complete health. He is an example to so many to never take a day for granted, and to never, ever give up, and to “Fight Like an O’Brien.”
